Stoycho Hristov Zagorski was the first Bulgarian physician to hold the post of municipal physician in Sevlievo, a revolutionary activist and military physician who took part in the Russo-Turkish War as a physician with the Romanian Red Cross.

Born in Sevlievo in 1848, Zagorski was orphaned at an early age and was raised by his maternal uncle, Nencho Hanchev. Thanks to his excellent academic performance, he received a scholarship from the municipality and graduated from the Higher Military Medical School in Bucharest at the end of 1869. During his studies he established contacts with Vasil Levski, Hristo Botev and other activists, and took an active part in the life of the Bulgarian emigration in Wallachia. At the beginning of 1870 he returned to Sevlievo as the first Bulgarian to hold the post of municipal physician and co-founded the reading club (chitalishte) "Rositsa". He was the first chairman of the local revolutionary committee founded by Levski. After the April Uprising, suspected by the Ottoman authorities, he returned to Romania, defended a doctoral dissertation on syphilis, and then took part in the Russo-Turkish War as a physician with the Romanian Red Cross. After the Liberation he held a number of posts – director of the Varna hospital, head of the Feldsher Military School, and court physician. He took part in the Serbo-Bulgarian War. He was a founding member of the First Bulgarian Medical Society. He died in 1902.
