Dr. Dimitar Tserovski was a physician from Tarnovo with a wide-ranging medical practice: surgeon, internist, and infectious disease specialist. He is known as the first neurosurgeon in Tarnovo.

He was born in 1894 in Tarnovo into a family of seven children. From an early age he loved music and played the accordion, the flute, and the gaida. In the early 1930s he returned to Tarnovo and rented a house at 25 Hristo Karaminkov Street, which he turned into a home and private clinic. According to a story handed down, he removed his own appendix with the help of only a nurse and a mirror. He purchased one of the first X-ray machines in the region. In 1942–1944 he was mobilized as a physician in a military hospital in Sofia. After 9 September he worked as a surgeon at the District Hospital in Tarnovo and was the first neurosurgeon in the city.
